The AES Director of Sales is responsible for management of the Sales staff for UnitedHealthcare AES and for new business sales in the 25 to 5,000+ employee range.  Additionally, the director will be responsible for the overall sale of new business customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Management

    • Training of Sales staff, new hire and ongoing

    • Maintain an acceptable level of new business in relation to meeting or exceeding sales goals.  

    • Recruit, hire, and monitor account management staff

    • Personnel development and management

    • Set sales strategy to achieve goals

    • Direct and manage service plans

  • Healthcare Knowledge

    • Understands and can communicate goals, operating principles, strategies and competitive position of UHC

    • In-depth healthcare knowledge, understands important trends

    • Demonstrates knowledge of competitors strengths, weaknesses and strategies

    • Understands medical management operations and strategies

  • Financial and Underwriting

    • Understands financing methodologies and strategies (fully insured, ASO, MP)

    • Thorough knowledge of UHC underwriting principles and practices

    • Understands healthcare cost trend drivers and explain impact on renewal to customers

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Related Field

  • 6+ years of successful Healthcare experience

  • 2+ years of successful management experience

  • Demonstrated success dealing with brokers/consultants

  • Demonstrated success dealing with sophisticated customers

  • Demonstrated success meeting goals/targets

  • Successful track record of strategic planning and implementation

  • Maintains Valid Driver's License and Sales Insurance License required by Law
