Position Summary

Directly support financial planning and analysis for the pharmacy department in all aspects of the business unit. Work in partnership with the leadership team management, and is responsible for a number of areas such as development of financial forecasts, business development and budgets. The Pharmacy Financial Analyst is directly responsible for pharmacy pricing, accrual planning, forecasts, the quarterly board of directors update, monthly P&L and weekly business review.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops budgets, forecasts and resource planing for all aspects of the pharmacy business including but not limited to operations, merchandising and managed care. Budgeted areas include corporate P&Ls and overhead, retail labor planning, central processing labor, pharmacy prescriptions, sales and margin.
  • Responsible for the construction of the weekly, monthly and quarterly business review
  • Conduct financial evaluations of current and proposed projects by gathering assumptions, making financial projections and constructing pro formas on identified business cases to present to the SVP of Pharmacy. This may include analysis, financial modeling, review of pharmacy or corporate financials, new business development, acquisitions, etc¿
  • Lead the preparation of financial forecasts, goals and budgets, including the identification/quantification of risks and opportunities; involves facilitating execution and administration of the pharmacy KPIs.
  • Oversee financial aspects of vendor negotiations, funding issues and related efforts.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of the pharmacy pricing model in addition to application development, systems integration and other respective projects related to pharmacy pricing
  • Responsible for the aggregation of the Pharmacy long-term strategic plan in coordination with the SVP of Pharmacy.

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelors Degree

Experience Required

  • 5 to 10 years

Experience Desired

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical organization is ideal. This could include but not limited to; retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, wholesaler, manufacturer or other.
