Position Summary

Support marketing, merchandising and retail operations business decisions by leveraging customer and sales data across all banners to identify impact of initiatives, and recommending course of action.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work directly with line of merchandising business leaders, marketing managers and retail leaders to design analytic solutions to business issues, manage the execution of the analyses, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Synthesize primary and secondary customer information, prepare and present comprehensive reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and recommending actions from key insights.
  • Proactively analyze results of enterprise business initiatives (competitive defense, circular activities, loyalty programs effectiveness, etc) and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Manage the work of contractors, both internal and external, supporting the Customer Analytics group.
  • Represent Customer Analytics team and participate in cross-functional teams to support new initiatives throughout the organization
  • Gather and analyze data using appropriate technical and analytic techniques. This includes developing code/programs to query databases and build various models. Know how to deal with the inherent structure of the data. Use SAS SQL and other tools to perform standard statistical analysis, profiling, reporting and models to evaluate program
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all internal (Customer Datamart, Data warehouse) and external (including but not limited to Nielsen) data that support customer analysis and decision making.
  • Act as main point of contact for data availability questions/expertise throughout the organization. Develop and lead training for new analytics or insights tool.

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelors Degree Mathematics/Statistics; Operations; Business

Experience Required

  • 5 to 10 years

Experience Desired

  • 5 years experience in data analysis and program evaluation for marketing/merchandising
  • 3 years experience managing analytical projects and delivering insights to management
  • 2+ years experience with SAS and SQL for statistical analysis and data mining
  • Experience with customer-level data analytics
