Position Summary

Writes test plans and performs manual executions of testing across a variety of software products. Performs audits and tests of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures. Debugs and characterizes defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports. Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering. Identifies actual or potential problems in test plans or company products. Assists product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.

  • Analyzes functional specs for completeness & testability
  • Finds, documents and reports bugs, errors, interoperability flaws and other issues within proprietary software applications
  • Demonstrates methodical, detail-oriented and thorough approach to all assignments while adhering to defined timelines
  • Consistently uses problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Analyzes test output, identify discrepancies and clearly document defects
  • Ability to explain testing methodology, processes, tools, templates, environment & concepts to team members
  • Writes test strategies that document testing approach to include: number/type of test cycles required, existing test scripts to use/update, new test scripts to write, environment requirements, training needs and backend system testing

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelors Degree Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline with an information technology focus

Experience Required

  • Over 10 years
  • Experience working with customers to develop solutions to complex business problems
  • 3 years direct experience in overseeing the design, development & implementation of QA standards for software testing
  • 3-4 years of waterfall methodology experience
  • Experience with mobile testing and mobile emulator tools. Experience in testing mobile responsive web and ecommerce sites across multiple browsers or emulator tools
  • 2-4 years of Agile development experience Experience with open source test automation tools
