Position Summary

We are seeking an Applications Development Consultant for our Eden Prairie, MN location to be responsible for working with business partners to document complex company wide acceptance test plans; working concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project; predicting emerging customer needs and developing innovative solutions to meet them; solving unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences; deploying and maintaining applications  and systems; working with software development professionals building  applications in the big data environment; engaging in application architecture and design decisions;  delivering a robust self-service environment for the end user community; implementing and maintaining a repeatable iterative software development methodology; managing SDLC processes and associated artifacts; ensuring ongoing compliance with SDLC processes; troubleshooting production support issues post release deployment and come up with solutions; and demonstrating ability to solve complex production issues.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years related progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.
  • Requires 12 months of demonstrated ability with each of the following: 1) Building applications with JEE Design patterns and following IRM standards when handling data using HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, Java 1.8, JDBC, Multithreading, Spring, Hibernate, JAXB, Maven, SQL; 2) Building packages, extract, transform and loading of data (MapReduce, HBase) using enterprise database structures and NoSQL databases (MarkLogic, Cassandra) and maintaining data using PL-SQL language; 3) Design and Develop RESTful web services with best practices of Service Oriented Architecture using JAX-WS, JAX-RS, Switchyard and RXQ XQuery; 4) Integrating web services with messaging framework for handling real-time data feeds (MQ, Apache Kafka); and 5) Administering OpenShift 3.0, IBM Websphere 7.5, JBOSS 7.0 and Apache HTTP Server to deploy and run applications and debug issues related to servers. Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
