Job Description

Use of this job code requires EIT executive sponsor approval. Provides technical consultation and support in the development of computer applications and programs. Analyzes business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign computer solutions. Develops original and/or complex code or provides coding guidance to less experienced staff. Leads and/or performs modeling, simulations and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Participates in overall systems testing. Leads the migration of applications to production. Develops new documentation, participates in the development of department technical procedures and designs user guides. As an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems. Leads projects, including assignment of tasks, and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.

As part of the Data Solutions team, analyzes business issues and makes recommendations to maximize operational efficiency, quality and compliance. Works independently to analyze and solve complex operational, systems-related and/or customer issues. Identifies and recommends internal and external data sources, compiles/mines data from multiple, cross business sources. Involved directly or indirectly in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc. Creates and maintains data repositories to track operational critical processes and provide management reports while interpreting data and identifying trends for managers. Administers daily and weekly jobs that populate data repositories to ensure accuracy and consistency. Manages small projects requiring coordination, resource allocation, time management and consultation to other analysts on the team. Identify, develop and implement policies, procedures and training materials to assure compliance with government regulations and to maximize efficiency and customer service. Serves as a valuable resource to other members of the Data Solutions team, offering guidance and serving as a mentor while promoting knowledge sharing and team collaboration. Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 4+ years of SAS programming experience
  • 4+ years of analytics experience
  • 4+ years of mortgage banking experience

Other Desired Qualifications

Preferred skills include:

Advanced PC-SAS experience connecting to multiple data sources and creating complex queries using macros and interrelated programs. Mainframe SAS and SAS-EG experience a plus. Teradata querying/reporting a plus. Proficiency with NDM and Visual Basic plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio. Familiar with Black Knight applications: MSP, Passport, Navigator; familiar with TSOA and LPS Reports.

Demonstrated ability to drive reporting and data requests to completion with minimal guidance. Mortgage industry knowledge with a focus on loan servicing, loan performance, and/or default data and reporting. Demonstrated proficiency with SAS with a focus on querying, analyzing and interpreting results, and making recommendations to leadership: SAS, SQL. Sound working knowledge of SSDM. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively at all levels of the organization. Ability to successfully work in a rapidly changing environment with multiple priorities; Adapt well to change. Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision making skills. Demonstrated aptitude to independently provide summary and recommendations on operational data. Possess strong troubleshooting, technical and resolution skills.
