The Associate Content Director is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating content strategies supporting key organizational objectives. This individual will work closely with leaders and teams across the business line and enterprise to drive clear and compelling content that influences and engages a variety of audiences.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead content strategies and set editorial direction supporting business-to-business prospecting and retention initiatives for all commercial sales segments

  • Lead content/editorial boards comprising leaders, staff, subject matter experts and other key stakeholders across the organization to identify, review and act on content priorities

  • Work independently and with internal/external content resources to write, edit and deliver clear and compelling content that helps drive enterprise and business line strategies

  • Lead and manage development of existing digital channels/assets (e.g. eNewsletters) while advancing best practices aimed at maximizing the effectiveness and impact of content.

  • Build and test multi-model distribution methods in conjunction with business partners

  • Take complex industry issues and simplify them to create relevant, timely and easy-to-understand thought leadership stories for clients/customers and prospects in all sales channels

  • Collaborate with other internal/external content resources to ensure consistency of approach and strong alignment of strategies with broader content and messaging platforms

  • Manage a variety of external content development and management resources, including budgets, contracts and administration

  • Understand and apply organizational brand and content style guidelines to work product(s)

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of resources and ensure on-time and on-budget execution

Demonstrated Skills:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and content planning and development skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels within a company
  • Not afraid to be a creative, innovative, outside-the-box thinker
  • Deep experience in digital content development, distribution and management
  • Comfortable interacting with company leaders
  • Proven record of taking complex concepts and simplifying them into compelling visual designs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of experience

  • 10+ years of experience with a content agency or within a creative/content team environment

  • 10+ years of experience developing on-strategy content for internal/external audiences

  • 5+ years of experience of leading strategic marketing/communications work

  • 5+ years of experience with digital content development

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Live within commutable distance to Minnetonka, MN  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing/Communications field or related
