And you'll do your life's best work.(sm)   The Associate Creative Director is responsible for working collaboratively across Marketing to define the creative strategy to meet the business strategy. This individual will help provide design leadership to further the development of the UnitedHealthcare E&I (Employer and Individual) brand, developing creative that is consistently applied and implemented, meeting project & campaign needs.    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support of the creative needs of Employer & Individual business initiatives, including advertising efforts, product and program launches, consumer initiatives
  • Develop compelling, on-brand creative concepts and design platforms based on business objectives
  • Present creative ideas to business partners
  • Act as a creative consultant and brand steward on projects to maintain brand consistency and quality of all deliverables
  • Provide creative direction to internal design staff developing concepts for a project or campaign
  • Collaborate with other creative resources, including agency partners, to ensure consistency of approach, brand  and alignment of strategy
  • Review projects or campaigns through the versioning process to ensure project is meeting requirements outlined from the creative strategy
  • Build strong relationships with material owners and become expert in various business areas
  • Work with Creative Director and Marketing leadership to develop strategy and ensure design consistency, as well as messaging consistency, across all marketing collateral
  • Assist in the development and implementation of brand guidelines


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED with equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience developing creative in an ad agency or marketing department; including a strong knowledge of the creative design and production process
  • Experience providing creative direction
  • B2C and B2B creative experience
  • Strong digital expertise, in addition to traditional media
  • Deep understanding of brand interpretation and application
  • Must be able to provide creative portfolio to support creative and design thinking
  • Creative portfolio that demonstrates breadth of experience showcasing both conceptual work and design skills as well as media experience including print, video and digital mediums
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite experience ( InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • People Management experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Ability to prioritize several deliverables against deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication — in person, in presentations and over the phone
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and make positive changes
  • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
