Description

The Associate Director, Market Finance collects, analyzes and reports on various market data to connect financial outcomes with operational effectiveness. The Associate Director, Market Finance requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Market Finance works with Actuary, MRA, Corporate Finance, Clinical and Market Point internally and Providers/Hospitals/Ancillary externally to drive optimization inclusive of activities spanning decisions required for day-to-day operations to strategic planning and addressing specific business performance issues across matrixed organization and fostering key relationships with business stakeholders. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s), and could lead multiple managers or highly specialized professional associates.

Responsibilities Include:

Physician/hospital/ancillary reimbursement analysis, decision support, healthcare cost containment, delivery system analysis and strategy, financial analysis, health care analysis, hospital contracts, physician contracts, ancillary contracts, medical economics, managed care, value based payments, non-par strategy, reimbursement conversions, health insurance, data analysis, cost benefit modeling, CMS, CMI, RVU, CPT/HCPCS, ICD-9/10, AP/APR/MS DRGs, Revenue Codes, Medicare and Medicaid fee schedules, fee for service, capitation, regulatory reporting.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads a team of analysts and managers  to facilitate standard reporting and ad hoc analysis
  • Leads and develops direct reports who include other management or supervisory personnel and/or exempt individual contributors 
  • Oversees the contract modeling process, directs all necessary follow-ups and communicates results and recommendations to senior management 
  • Manages activities through managers, and/or senior professionals; responsible for results in terms of costs, methods, and associates
  • Oversees and conducts monthly analysis identifying opportunities to reduce cost and utilization, to include review and dissemination of reports with summary overviews to highlight issues facing the organization
  •  Develops and manage new reporting tools based on the needs of the regional and divisional executive leadership
  • Develops and provides actionable recommendations to senior management relative to all analysis and/or ad hoc reporting

               

Required Qualifications

  • 8 years relevant health care industry experience

  • Substantial financial analysis experience

  • Ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities with limited resources
  •  Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly and grammatically both complex and simple messages to all levels within or outside the organization
  • Special attention on the ability to communicate effectively to senior management
  • Ability to articulate ideas and recommendations in a concise and actionable presentation
  • Typically requires Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 6+ years of technical and 2+ years of management experience
  • Ability to lead and manage special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Analytical Tools (SQL, SAS) Visualiztion tools (Tableau, Qlikview)
  • Experience leading others in technical/analytical functions
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
