Associate Director, Network Contracting

The health care system needs to evolve even further than it has and it has to do so at a lightning fast pace. As an Associate Director within our network contracting team, you’ll guide the development and support of provider networks as well as unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis and reporting. Primary Responsibilities

  • Own an end to end contracting process including, but not limited to, using available technology to create contracts, negotiate financial and contract terms, and implement final contract
  • Lead, supervise and / or mentor employees
  • Develop detailed, and concise negotiation strategy and plans to yield desired outcome of the organization
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems outside of own team
  • Build and / or maintain collaborative relationships with key external and internal partners
  • Manage unit cost budgets, target setting, performance reporting and associated financial models
  • Guide development of geographically competitive, broad access, stable networks that achieve objectives for unit cost performance and trend management
  • Manage, evaluate, and negotiate contracts in compliance with company templates, reimbursement structure standards and other key process controls
  • Ensure that network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties
  • Set team direction, resolve problems and provide guidance to members of your team
  • Influence and/or provide input to forecasting and planning activities


Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree of equivalent years of work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results
  • 2+ years of experience with financial tools that are used in the development of product pricing and managing medical costs and administrative budgets
  • Expert level of knowledge of Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS), DRGs, Ambulatory Surgery Center Groupers, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with provider contracting
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of the Ohio payer provider landscape
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hospital/facility operations
  • Claims coding experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information form others, including but not limited to reimbursement policy standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others
