Associate Director of User Experience Testing & Quality - Minnetonka, MN

Your role as the User Experience Quality Associate Director is to design the methodologies needed to validate the user experience is achieving the desired outcome for our consumers and providers. You will be responsible for identifying gaps in our processes and recommending solutions to resolve the gaps. Your role will ensure that appropriate actions to continually improve the user experience and will create partnerships with technology teams to reinforce the use of automated quality monitoring systems to prevent defects in the process.   Primary Responsibilities:

  • As part of the Constituent and Consumer Experience team, this position will provide strategic direction and oversight to the user experience associated with an emerging technology product release
  • Develops and oversees the program level reporting packages/scorecards and the underlying methodology for how key metrics and analytics are tracked through the roll out and adoption process
  • Leads the user experience quality and testing processes across consumer and provider for all lines of business to ensure the product meets the user needs
  • Identifies controls, tools, resources needed to measure and monitor the quality of the user experience
  • Reviews product performance against expectations; formulates and recommends changes based upon requirement needs. Partners with technology and key stakeholders, in order to minimize defects that affect the consumer and provider experience and lead the resolution process to identify solutions
  • Drives for root cause resolution across all testing processes, with the intent on removing variation from the system. Utilizes six sigma/quality methodologies in order to articulate the impact of concerns, and risks to the overall user experience
  • Develops and oversees the user experience quality and testing reporting packages/scorecards and the underlying methodology for how key metrics and analytics are tracked through the roll out and adoption process
  • Creates the strategic roadmap for how to evaluate the effectiveness of the user experience as new features and functions are released
  • Strategic vision combined with operational execution skills: Thinks strategically and implements tactically to consistently deliver results
  • Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships at all levels across the broader Benefit Operations and UHC/UHG organization
  • Superior planning and strong problem solving skills, which enable quick identification and efficient resolution of issues
  • Strong operational and business acumen: understands the key business systems and levers that influence operational performance
  • Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated comfort in working in highly- matrixed relationships

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of user experience design, business process mapping or quality control testing
  • 3+ years of experience creating dashboards or reports to communicate the status of a work effort
  • 3+ years of experience solving large scale problems and identifying root cause resolution
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and present complex data
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel
  • Experience using PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading analysis and testing resources
  • Bachelor’s degree – Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Information Systems, Decision Science
  • User journey mapping, value stream mapping, or process design experience
  • Six Sigma and quality methodology background
  • Project management and IT skills with a demonstrated ability to lead large scale transformational change initiatives that influence people, process and technology
  • Demonstrated organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and navigate a complex and matrixed shared service environment
  • Demonstrated executive communication skill set: communicate ideas clearly and concisely with demonstrated comfort level in interacting with all levels of leadership
