The Associate Director, Data Science leads the Associate Well-being Insights and Analytics Team which is responsible for measuring and improving well-being through data integration. This team follows these guiding principles:

Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Data Science develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting, and uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. This position requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department in order to support Humana’s Associate Well-Being strategy.

This role will:

  • Proactively inform our associate health and well-being strategy with actionable insights
  • Interpret and analyze health and well-being information in combination with other data sets to develop our whole-person strategy
  • Collaborate with partners to develop and provide consistent analytics and reporting to support initiatives and programs
  • Demonstrate value on investment
  • Pioneer research and learning that position Humana as an innovative thought leader
  • Lead a dynamic team of data scientists and analytics professionals

               

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 6+ years of technical experience in an analytics or consulting role (big consulting firm experience)
  • 2+ years of management experience (must be direct experience)
  • Possesses a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting
  • Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics
  • Experience in identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Biostatistics or Epidemiology
  • Experience managing large data sets
  • Experience using statistical software – SQL, SAS, etc.
