Behavioral Health Technician

Function:Direct Support Professional (Care Givers)
As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) with Arizona MENTOR, you’ll be one of those extraordinary people. This position supports individuals we serve in residential settings. We seek a compassionate person to successfully assist, support, and teach the skills necessary to enable SMI residents to achieve their activities of daily living in a 24 hour living situation, including meal preparation and planning, and medication administration assistance. You will also have an opportunity to support therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support by conducting a minimum of one individual counseling session and one group counseling session per week. You will also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work or other activities.

What we require of you:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Must be minimum of 21 years of age
Valid AZ driver’s license in good standing
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
A background check will be conducted for this position leading to a valid Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card

Initial Training Requirement--Paid Training:
Approximately 32 hours of mandatory paid training sessions offered to new employees prior to providing care to individuals. Sessions are held Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.
