Bilingual Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) Member Service Representative - Multiple Locations

In this role the Bilingual Member Service Representative will be responsible for providing excellent walk - in service to members and healthcare providers on benefits, claims, authorizations, policies and procedures. You will also provide pre - sales consultations and enrollment to walk - in prospects that are interested in our Medicare products and participate in community outreach which include external events to promote brand.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent service to walk - in members and via phone
  • Act as a customer advocate in providing assistance to resolve members’ issues and problems
  • Follow - up calls to members with resolution to identify issues in timely manner
  • Resolve inquiries related to authorizations, claims, enrollment, and billing
  • Provide service requests to other departments as needed
  • Fulfill material requests for members
  • Maintain accurate member data, including addresses, phone numbers, and PCP changes
  • Input data in system for record tracking and issue resolution
  • Document all issues in system in a timely manner
  • Proactively educate members on covered benefits, plan exclusions, and procedures to enhance total customer service experience
  • Promote various store events and seminars to customers
  • Assist members to apply for various government assistance programs
  • Perform accountabilities in accordance with established organizational metrics
  • Identify trends and continuously make recommendations to improve processes
  • Report issues or problems with members, systems and processes to manager
  • Assist and involved in member retention projects
  • Perform other related projects and duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain productive working relationship with others and contribute as an effective team member
  • Perform inside sales function to increase new business
  • Service walk - in prospects interested in Medicare and Individual Products
  • Remain courteous on the phone handling senior population
  • Any ad - hoc projects as needed
The locations for this position are Fullerton, CA, Irvine, CA, or Alhambra, CA

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience in Customer Service analyzing and solving customer problems
  • California Health License required or the ability to obtain license within 30 days of employment
  • Fluent (written and verbal) in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English
  • Ability to navigate a computer
  • Data Entry experience
  • Ability to navigate through multiple programs including Microsoft Excel (create spreadsheets), Microsoft Word (update documents), and Microsoft Access (store information for reference, reporting)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher)
  • Healthcare experience
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to interact in a compassionate and empathetic way with customers, members, clients
