The Specialty Business Development Manager will be a key role within the specialty business, and a liaison with OptumRx Product, BriovaRx ops, and client management/sales in the identification and support of specialty growth opportunities.  The Manager will directly report to and support the Assoc. Dir. of Specialty Business Development.  The role will partner with other Specialty Bus Dev leads to advance the specialty value story, evangelize the story internally and externally, and prepare specialty regularly during finalist meetings and key strategic client discussions.

Primary Responsibilities:
 
Sales Support:
 
  • Proficiency in the specialty pharmacy value story
  • Support of the sales process representing specialty in development of RFP responses, content, and strategic direction
  • Support Director of Bus Dev and other leadership in preparation along with specialty marketing for finalist presentations, and other strategic client meetings as needed
  • Support the VP of Specialty/CEOs of BriovaRx and BriovaRx Infusion in molding creative solutions for clients, and quickly ideating and executing on strategies even where strategies may not currently exist
Strategic Initiatives:
  • Support specialty business development in developing programmatic responses to RFPs and advancing the capabilities within specialty for the organization
  • Define key strategies for potential clients and flexibility to work efficiently with unknowns
  • Provide strategic thought leadership on initiative optimization processes and best practices, through liaising with our operational teams
  • Specialty Subject Matter Advisor to multiple work-streams and represent Specialty leadership thought and direction to various stakeholders and in support of specialty mission
  • Track new markets and trends, recommend products and services, develop new strategic partnerships, write proposals and plans, guide long-term objectives
  • Vet new initiative or product opportunities through modelling and clear artifacts and presentations to socialize opportunity with leadership and other matrix partners
Product Support:
  • Liaison for specialty business and programs and services team with OptumRx Product at the direction of Dir. Bus Dev
  • Responsible for collaboration with Product on strategy, design, development, management or sunsetting of new, existing or acquisition products
  • Reviews product performance against expectations and facilitates or influences changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance
  • Management of business development strategies to increase the business share for specialty through capture initiatives, new programs, and other strategies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working successfully in a matrixed organization and ability to influence results
  • Proven experience starting from grass roots to develop and structure complex deals
  • 5+ years of experience in PBM, health plan, specialty, or other managed care environment
  • 2+ years experience in specialty, client management, and strategic initiatives
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Travel up to 25%nationally
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience drafting RFP response and crafting sales stories for finalist
  • Direct experience in managing products
  • Advanced degree preferably in business (MBA, MHA, MS, etc…)
  • Proven ability to thrive in a highly changing, growing environment
  • Located within commutable distance to Eden Prairie
