In this Business/Enterprise Architect role, you will be responsible for the development, communication and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and applications roadmaps, including the components required to support IT and in the integration of corporate and business architecture and applications.  


Positions are business specialists and technology generalists that manage, direct and interface with business clients. Align technology solution with business strategies, working primarily with business segment senior management. Proactively identify opportunities, conduct analyses, needs assessments, cost/benefit assessments and broker other IS services.


You will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the business to understand/influence business requirements
  • Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to architectural solutions
  • Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives
  • Identify and quantify scope and impact of business changes on systems
  • Facilitate/lead/participate in identification of solution options and features
  • Communicate solution options to business owners/stakeholders (e.g. architecture reviews)
  • Incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure, network) into conceptual designs
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans)
  • Identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and follow the exception/waiver process as needed
  • Maintain awareness of current technology assets and the capability of each
  • Understand and adhere to architecture Governance framework
  • Deliver all project deliverables on scope, on time and on budget
  • Ensuring capital programs stay aligned to the business segment and EA strategies while leveraging existing components and capabilities across the business segment landscape
  • Modeling the technical landscape to analyze the alignment of business capabilities with delivered technology and IT solutions.  Analyzing the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and collaborating with Enterprise Architecture and development team architects to recommend solutions for improvement
  • "Selling" the Enterprise Architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture alternatives
  • Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems
  • Strong technology modeling skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate STEM degree
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture and planning
  • 5+ years of experience in the systematic use of business requirements analysis and definition methodologies
  • 4+ years of full-lifecycle application development experience
  • Deep understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration
  • Experience delivering against enterprise-level architecture roadmaps
  • Experience directing or leading cross functional or cross-segment teams
  • Experience with Agile methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or graduate degree
  • Health care industry and company experience
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling and Business Process Management
  • Proven Ability to Lead without Authority
  • Solid Problem solving skills
  • Visionary/Strategist for Solutions
  • Experience with modeling enterprises within Casewise, Alfabet PlanningIT, or SPARX Enterprise Architect
  • Experience with TOGAF, PEAF, and/or other enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Expert level skills with MS Office tool, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, and Access
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with both IT and business leadership
