The lead analyst conducts and manages outcomes of various analyses by reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for programme operations and planning. Also implements effective business solutions through research and analysis of data.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Kent Programme Business Intelligence team to ensure that their workstream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery

  • Working closely with the CCG to understand and deliver analytics

  • Implement data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data

  • Present information and issues to the programme team and external stakeholders

  • Liaise with other analysts and programme members to share best practice

  • Project Management
    • Provide specialist input to the design, implementation and delivery of a high quality and responsive information analysis service
    • Responsible for the provision of information analysis support
    • Provide relevant and timely specialist advice and guidance on own portfolio of projects/function
    • Work with members of the team to investigate the causes of any variance from target/plan and proactively contribute to the implementation of solutions
    • Management of a risk and issues tracking mechanism and its proactive resolution and escalation processes
  • Financial Resources
    • Provide regular reporting on the targeting of resources and monitoring their implementation from a value for money perspective
    • Evaluate projects/function within identified portfolio for delivery against financial recovery/savings plans through providing sophisticated, high quality project analysis
    • Ensure that the analyst manager is supplied with required data to monitor compliance with key performance targets
  • Information Management
    • Ensure timely and accurate information analysis and reporting to CCG’s  on agreed areas of work
  • Research and Development
    • Complete Research and Development activities, collating information, analysing and reporting findings
    • Develop and implement robust systems for measurement of quality within the healthcare services and highlight potential issues requiring investigation
    • Complete a range of data quality and validation checks, including participation in the Data Assurance Framework, challenging data providers and taking appropriate action to correct anomalies
  • Reporting
    • Responsible for the completion and submission of national and local returns to strict deadlines, ensuring information sent is accurate and consistent with other data to meet statutory obligations
    • Responsible for monthly validation of commissioning datasets

Required Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
  • Experience of analysis of complex data sets and presentation of outputs to varied audiences
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting
  • Knowledge of BI Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes
  • Understanding of the public sector
  • Demonstrate experience in a Healthcare environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge  of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince 2 Foundation and Microsoft Project
  • Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures
