The Business Initiatives Manager will take on the responsibilities of the Corporate and Investment Banking Early Talent Program (CIB) in the Early Talent Group. This leader will direct the team responsible for leading all elements of the CIB Early Talent Program. This team acts as the trustee of CIB Early Talent (Analyst, Associates) with the goal of ensuring that the business acquires, develops, and retains the best in class talent.

This role is also responsible for senior level leadership of Program Managers who work directly with HR Partners and Line of Business leaders to support the development of a program curriculum that supports business needs. This role leads a team engaged in the development and delivery of training classes and ongoing program management including, but not limited to:

  • Management of Early Talent Programs, providing leadership and coordination between line of business managers, campus recruiting, HR Business Partners, Compensation and training
  • Development of metrics and track performance of the early talent programs
  • Providing direction and executing assistance on key events, performance management, compensation, placement, career counseling, out/in placement
  • Remaining current on internal and external practices that drive greater retention, engagement and professional development
  • Partners with LOB Leaders and campus recruiting to determine intern and fulltime needs
  • Partners with LOB Leaders and Training to develop training for new program hires and ongoing development needs
  • Partner with key stakeholders (campus recruiting, training, LOB managers) to manage summer analyst and summer associate internship programs.
  • Plans and organizes events for summer analyst and associate interns
  • Organizes monthly meetings with Development Officers to drive early talent best practices across IBCM and GICG
  • Serves as consultant and primary point of contact for IBCM Junior and Early Talent Councils
  • Communicates to senior leaders early talent program progress to goals (program changes, hiring, diversity, retention, strategic initiatives)
  • Will participate in an early talent community of practice with other Wholesale Banking Program Managers

This role will be a critical member of the Early Talent Leadership team.

Job responsibilities include:

Course Development and Curriculum

  • The CIB Program Director will contribute to the ongoing enhancement in design, development and delivery of training for CIB Early Talent Programs
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and managers from the LOBs and human resources to identify and prioritize Early talent participant learning needs
  • Lead and implement appropriate measurement and analytics tools to monitor the performance of Early Talent participants with regard to required training

Program and Relationship Management

  • Lead and coach the CIB program managers, establish and execute plans to achieve required results relating to all aspects of the programs
  • Develop and manage effective communication processes to provide necessary feedback on individual Early Talent participant performance

CIB Early Talent Program Strategies

  • Actively participate in strategic planning for all CIB early talent programs and support the broader strategy for all early talent programs including assessment of/participation in:

• Program tracking and analytics
• Compensation
• Placement
• Recruiting partnerships
• Post-acceptance transition
• Training & development
• Diversity & inclusion
• Marketing & communications
• Performance management
• Engagement with LOB Councils/Steering Committees
• Networking/competitive intelligence
• Budget

Early Talent Leadership Team Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate as a functional subject matter expert within the Early Talent Leadership team with responsibility for:

• Sharing functional team updates at weekly leadership team meetings and quarterly or annual meetings as necessary
• Project leadership and demonstration of strong influence skills
• Promoting a positive team environment including a consistent focus on development
• Identification of early talent and team priorities
• Initiation of process improvements

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in Early Talent Program Management
  • Ability to exercise judgment and decision making within broadly defined policies and practices and work independently
  • Proven record of impact and influence at the senior leadership level and ability to build positive, trusting work relationships
  • Experience working within the Investment Banking industry, managing an Early Talent Program for a line of business, and/or participation in the WF Securities early Talent program
  • Knowledge of Wells Fargo Securities businesses and Early Talent programs
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
