Business Intelligence Application Owner – Minnetonka, MN

This position is responsible for anticipating customer needs and proactively developing solutions to meet them.  Use your operational, analytical and communication skills to deliver complex analyses and solutions. You must be self-directed and creative as you will deal with some very interesting and complex issues. As a key resource to others you must maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reporting Application SME.  Own and develop an application roadmap (work with business owners and business analysts to define and shape future needs.) Develop and maintain multigenerational strategies, roadmaps, and system documentation for all modes of applications in support of the business needs
  • Vendor/IT Relationship Manager (Development team, Support Team, Vendor Resources). Establish and achieve a 2-5 year strategy for how to deliver effective reporting to a large and diverse sales organization
  • Technical lead for the business intelligence development team, offering guidance and oversight in shared design and delivery approaches.  Participate in and lead code and design reviews. Recommends and implements documentation; evaluates and maintain policies, procedures and controls.  Align development practices. Develop innovative approaches to complex business needs
  • Supports the reporting team, business partners and end users through issue management and prioritization, resolution, verification and communication
  • Optimize organizational partnerships to capitalize on reporting tools/needs and best practices
  • Primary liaison with the Optum support team to ensure stability in environments and process
  • Participate in and help guide organizational projects that impact reporting and data sources
  • Key contributor with other teams (ETL Developers, BA's, Testers) in meeting release milestones

Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or application development
  • 3+ years of experience with relational database systems and database concepts
  • 3+ years of experience working with data, data analysis and SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • 3+ years of experience working with a dynamic reporting tool (Qlikview, Qliksense, Tableau, etc.)
  • 2+ years vendor management experience
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently across multiple groups
  • Experience setting and fulfilling a strategic agenda in a technical role
 Preferred Qualifications
  • IT experience in a large, enterprise environment
  • UI/UIX Experience
  • Health care experience
  • Sales Experience including CRM tools
