Title Business Planning Consultant Position Posting Location Buffalo Status Full Time Regular Hours 8-5 Job Description The Business Planning Consultant will be responsible for supporting the creation and facilitation of annual three (3) year functional business plans. The incumbent will assist in the annual development and updating of the planning process and ensure timely execution of the various phases of the planning process, partnering with the business to create high quality plans and develop corporate business plans and capabilities rooted in deep market insights. The Consultant will work with all business areas to routinely monitor progress toward the functional plans, including the collection and reporting of key metrics and plans to close gaps. Primary Responsibility Works directly with senior business leaders and corresponding functional areas to facilitate and develop business plans directly linked to corporate strategic plan and goals. This includes active involvement and facilitation of the business planning process. Maintains HealthNow’s capability model and associated heat maps for designated functions within the organization. Document all components of plan, including current state assessments, evaluation of results, and presenting findings. Supports the identification of realistic and executable strategies focused on planning and developing roadmaps (people, process, technology, information) and governance structures to define future state plans. Partners closely with finance to develop financial plans and set goals for HealthNow. Develops, maintains and communicates performance scorecards to measure business plan performance. Serves the business as resource with deep knowledge of industry and competition. Develops thought leadership through knowledge of industry/business planning best practices, accepted procedure, and/or optimal standard practice. Works closely with the Competitive Intelligence, and other cross-functional teams to help capture opportunities that support enhanced business planning processes. Performs other duties as required. Budgetary Responsibilities: Manages project budgets (small to large in scope)
Experience Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.
5 years experience in management, business or strategy consulting, or 5 years in a strategy setting role in a health insurance industry experience is required. Masters degree preferred (MBA). Consulting experience in strategy or business planning firm preferred.
