Business Systems Analyst - Data Conversion - Columbia, SC

As a Business Systems Analyst – Data Conversion, you will have the opportunity to configure, test, and implement product solutions.  You will assess legacy applications and determine the proper conversion approach to account for all data elements.  You will review, interpret, and assess the source and target systems to assure the successful conversion of data central to the proper operation of the Optum Medicaid Management Services (OMMS) solution and delivery of stated business objectives.
Your contributions will directly impact the success of the client implementation. The Business Systems Analysts will be part of team that is responsible for the build out of technology for OMMS.  This is a challenging role that creates an opportunity to grow and development while maintaining a balanced life-work commitment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Partner with OMMS system administrators and legacy system representatives to identify and define scope, objectives, and requirements for the successful data conversion
  • Identify and alert project leadership to project risks and issues which could impact adherence to project timelines and budget
  • Ensure timely and effective execution of all deliverables
  • Collaborate with QA team to ensure testing efforts align with functionality
  • Lead and mentor other Business System Analysts as required
  • Perform other dues as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, related field. or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of business systems analysis experience
  • 1+ years of direct data conversion experience
  • Experience with relational database management systems
  • Experience with data  transformation tools and techniques
  • Expertise in one health care claims payment systems, preferably Cognizant (TriZetto) Facets
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, clearly presents information, and has good listening skills
  • Proficiency with PC based software programs (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience interpreting user stories and applying the appropriate technical solutions to deliver operational results
  • Healthcare experience is required
  • Able to work closely and onsite with legacy system representatives
  • Comfortable working in a distributed team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medicaid experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with requirements management
  • Excels in ambiguous work environment, easily adapts to shifting priorities
  • Ability to understand and build technical solutions for complex health care problems
  • Direct or equivalent experience working with legacy systems including mainframes, or hybrid mainframe systems
  • 2+ years of experience in writing user stories and detailed process flows
  • Excels at identifying, analyzing, organizing, and solving issues and problems
  • Self-starter, resourceful; independently seeks and finds resources, information, knowledge, and/or tools to complete tasks as needed
  • Strong focus on high-quality execution and delivery
