Devereux’s Victoria Adult Treatment Program sits on 400 wooded acres dotted with vibrant wildflowers and native Texas wildlife, approximately 15 miles between Victoria and Goliad. Within this calm and tranquil setting, a therapeutic environment exists for children and adults with severe psychological, behavioral and/or developmental problems.
Devereux has been providing services nationwide for more than 90 years and the Texas program has served adults since the early 1960s. The campus is located near excellent medical services and offers recreational and shopping opportunities.

The goal of the residential program is to assist and support clients as they become contributing members of their community. Our team members work with the client to develop a support plan that helps the client achieve maximum independence. The plan is designed based on the needs of the client, and incorporates supports that can address challenging behaviors. The Adult Program is based on the philosophy that all individuals benefit from a challenging environment, and grow and learn through new experiences.

The IDEAL candidate will... Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of Safe and Positive Approaches.
