Position Summary

Conducts job analyses, prepares job descriptions and evaluates jobs to determine pay grades. Administers annual merit increase processes. Assists leaders in making pay decisions. Administers incentive plans. Conducts and participates in compensation surveys.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer Giant Eagle pay programs and monitor internal and external compensation data to ensure Giant Eagle programs are in compliance with all federal and state regulations and are market competitive.
  • Assist Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners with defining and validating key position requirements and creating job descriptions. For example, education, experience, technical knowledge and developing/refining and documenting job content requirements.
  • Respond to compensation surveys, extract and summarize pay data and communicate with survey administrators to verify data. Communicate survey results to participants.
  • Assist with the bonus and merit increase processes.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers and leadership regarding pay decisions.
  • Gather market-based compensation data utilizing a compensation tool (i.e. ePrism) and compare market data to internal jobs to ensure internal equity.
  • Analyze job content, determine internal and external value, and assign title and grades to positions.
  • Conduct audits and take actions to ensure jobs are correctly classified according to FLSA guidelines.
  • Run and produce statistical/operational reports for the core compensation function. For example, budget and salary administration reports.
  • Assist with the deferred compensation and long-term incentive processes.

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelors Degree HR or related field

Experience Required

  • 1 to 3 years
