The Computer System Specialist's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Repair defective computer hardware, configure, maintain and implement solutions to network issues, system administration problems and software application errors.

  • This position will be Tuesday through Saturday with after hours and on call responsibilities.

  Position Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Set up equipment for employees use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems or appropriate software.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems and replace defective components following design or installation specifications when necessary.

  • Install, configure, control and manage local area networks (LAN), WIFI wireless networks and wide area networks (WAN).

  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, network security and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people both in person and via the telephone while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor.

  • Shall be able to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow CASTmembers and the general public.

  • Ability to travel and work in excess of standard 40 hours; be available evenings, weekends, non-working hours and holidays when necessary as well as on-call after-hours duty and on-call weekends as scheduled.

  • Ability to lift, lower and carry items that typically weigh 25 – 50 pounds varying distances.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Point of Sale systems.

  • Working knowledge of various database platforms

  • Working knowledge of the JD Edwards financial platform

  • Familiarity of compliance procedures


  • 2 years of computer studies or equivalent experience

  • Valid License with acceptable driving record for past three years
