Position Summary

This position is responsible for the sourcing of high quality applicants for all Retail Support Center and Retail based positions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, and track results of innovative sourcing strategies aimed at generating quality candidates to meet overall sourcing goals while always maintain an emphasis on creating a diverse pool of talent. Regularly communicate this information to designated Talent Acquisition Leadership.
  • Utilize a variety of proactive sourcing techniques including but not limited to: identifying and connecting with passive talent through targeted direct calls, canvassing efforts, networking and building partnerships with schools, communities, and diverse organizations/associations, conducting presentations and speaking engagements, utilizing complex internet searches and social recruiting methods, mining internal Applicant Tracking System, attending external job fairs, arranging and leading in-store hiring events.
  • Produce a pipeline of qualified candidates and build a robust network of top talent with a focus on retail, skilled/specialty and retail support center roles for the purpose of lead generation.
  • Act as an employer brand ambassador and help drive candidate interest in career opportunities. Demonstrate the ability to sell Giant Eagle's Team Member Value Proposition by understanding and utilizing candidates' varied interests to tailor marketing messages to be as compelling and persuasive as possible.
  • Proactively conduct market research in an effort to develop knowledge of current external industry/market/competitor trends and concurrently develop internal knowledge of the business.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with hiring leaders by taking time to clearly understand the business/location need(s) and to define the appropriate sourcing plan. Communicate weekly with the hiring leaders regarding the status of sourcing efforts.
  • Take a thoughtful, customer-focused approach to candidate requests and inquiries. Deliver a positive candidate experience through continuous communication, follow-up, and engagement throughout the sourcing process
  • Demonstrate flexibility and fluidity in regularly changing work based on business needs. This can include but is not limited to assignments as a sourcing and/or selection specialist for a variety of positions, openings, acquisition work, or projects while working as part of a team.
  • Create a culture of innovation by taking the initiative to look for and suggest ways to continuously improve the recruiting process and drive toward higher efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure recruiting practices are consistent and compliant with Company policies, procedures, and applicable labor and employment laws.
  • Support other recruiting areas as needed by completing the hiring and selection process for candidates who have applied to the applicant tracking system. This includes candidate application reviews, HR interviews, working with Candidate Care Coordinators to schedule hiring manager interviews, gathering hiring manager interview feedback, delivering job offers or dispositioning candidates, negotiating wages, and ensuring the accuracy of the details of all offer letters.

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 18 months to 3 years of additional training

Experience Required

  • 1 to 3 years
