Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Credit Analyst 3 is responsible for analyzing complex companies and industries and conducting presentations on findings to senior management. Functions include: conducting complex credit investigations and analyzing diverse credit information; analyzing/formalizing documentation of lease and loan transactions and/or credit history of customers; assisting in preparation of credit reports for presentation to lending officers and/or approval committees; performing research/analysis related to projects such as industry studies and management reports.

Additional Rail Credit responsibilities include working closely with Credit Analysts, the Compliance team and Senior Risk Officer at Wells Fargo Rail in several key aspects of the business, including lease and loan customer credit analysis, portfolio monitoring (asset and customer), industry research, and Compliance-related activities. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Performs financial and industry analysis in support of underwriting new lease and loan transactions
  • Conducts portfolio monitoring activities - annual reviews, risk ratings, evaluation of concentration limits
  • Supports new equipment acquisitions through extensive industry analysis
  • Compiles data and prepares standard and ad hoc reports/presentations
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant policies and procedures

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of credit analysis experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data
Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in underwriting commercial credit transactions for publicly-traded or medium to large, privately-held companies or large-ticket loan/leasing credit analysis, rail and commodities
  • Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or finance
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively
  • Solid work ethic and team orientation
