The WFEF Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG) Program Credit Underwriter is responsible for the underwriting and management of titled vehicle vendor, leasing or finance company, and third party origination programs where there is high reliance on the program counterparty.

Primary responsibilities include the preparation of a comprehensive Approval Memo or Annual Review covering all aspects of program risk, as well as ongoing monitoring of program performance. This is performed in coordination with multiple WFEF departments including Sales, Legal, Program Servicing, Program Audit, Contract Administration, Accounting and Equipment Management. This position will make appropriate recommendations to Senior Management regarding credit exposure, customer risk ratings, program structures and disposition of audit findings. A key role is to support, coordinate and respond to the results of audits performed by WFEF Program Audit.

Specific responsibilities include the investigation and financial analysis of program counterparties to determine their ability to fulfill their respective obligations within titled vehicle finance programs. This requires an in-depth understanding of financial statements, program structures (recourse, servicing, etc.), vendor reporting capabilities, legal aspects of program documentation, equipment and insurance-related risks, tax and accounting issues, general operational issues and procedures associated with programs, as well as understanding the underlying portfolio credit characteristics of end users and contract structures. This position coordinates all relevant activities with the functional departments, and Senior Sales and Credit Management.

The level of this position is one of the most senior staff underwriting levels within WFEF credit and candidates are expected to demonstrate strong team work and leadership skills.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
