DevOps Engineer - Rocky Hill, CT

  • Interact in all phases of software engineering delivery
  • Design and implement features including reusable components, frameworks and libraries in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
  • Work with engineering team to request DNS configurations, load balancer setups, proxy configurations, firewall rule exceptions etc.
  • Work with engineering team to request and set up IIS configurations, monitoring agents and server-side tools and configurations
  • Work very closely with architects and drive solutions
  • Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software
  • Work closely with engineering team to advance CI/CD strategies
  • Have experience with reverse engineering code to solve production issues

Required Qualifications:
  • Broad understanding for industry trends around scaling and resiliency of core systems
  • 2+ years of experience operating inside a Microsoft based IT environment
  • 2+ years of professional software/technology experience, with at least 3 years of experience in a complex, technical environment
  • 1+ years of experience in automating build processes, application deployments and continuous integration systems such as Jenkins, Team City, Terraform, TFS, etc
  • 6+ months of experience working  with cloud technologies such as Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon Web Services, Mesos, Azure/Azure pack, etc
  • 1+ years of experience working in an Agile environment utilizing Test-driven development practices
  • Proficient with an automation language such as Java, Groovy, with scripting skills
  • Proficient with developer tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ, VS Code, etc

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in CI/CD to public production environments
  • Experience with containerization; Kubernetes, Docker, Marathon, etc
  • Experience deploying analytics technologies such as Kafka, Cassandra, Spark
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub
  • Advanced capabilities with a command line interface
  • Experience integrating reporting tools such as Kibana and Splunk for monitoring app container health & performance
