The New Ventures and Product Innovations Team defines strategy and leads market entry for large-scale, new business ventures  Serving as a major growth engine for OptumInsight, the group works closely with Optum’s senior executives and existing capability leaders to generate growth from market areas that are ripe for disruption.
This role is a senior-level position serving as a subject matter expert on our commercial team and will steer go-to-market, sales strategy, and help scope and deliver new client work.  The ideal candidate will be one who has spent significant time in their career in the marketing industry – either at an agency or in a marketing department, and also has a strong knowledge of the healthcare market.   This leader will join an entrepreneurial team working to bring an outcomes-focused solution to market that combines technology, data, and marketing services. 
The role requires strong analytical and communication skills (especially in-person communication), high adaptability, strong healthcare and marketing domain expertise, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset. This individual is primarily responsible for helping grow revenue by engaging new clients and expanding our relationship with existing clients.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support new sales pursuits and ongoing customer relationships
  • Support delivery to clients and development of campaign strategy
  • Develops functional, market level, and / or site strategy, plans, production and / or organizational priorities
  • Support product go-to-market strategy and product definition / requirements

 Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree
  • 10+ years of marketing industry experience
  • 5+ years of consultative sales
  • Digital Marketing experience especially within the following areas, Google, Facebook, Email, and Paid Search 
  • Management experience post sale
  • Travel up to 50% nationally
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and prioritize deliverables
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • Healthcare experience
  • Business to consumer experience

  • Agency Background
  • 5+ years of working in marketing at a health system
  • Located in Washington, DC
