Position Summary

This position is responsible for all managed care contracting for retail and specialty pharmacy ensuring profitability and access to networks driving sales. The Director also oversees reconciliation of payment, clinical programming to drive STARS ratings, reimbursement disbutes and insurance audit compliance aligned to contracting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategy to contract with PBMs, Health Plans and employers that bring volume or maintain network access to Giant Eagle Pharmacy, incorporate contractual terms and financial rates, as well as and levels of risk, that are acceptable to the Company.
  • Evaluate the financial feasibility of current contracted rates and proposed rates, including the impact of rate-related terms, and ultimately determine that any agreed upon payment rates fall within those that are acceptable to Giant Eagle.
  • Gather and utilize market rate and rate-related information to update and revise payment strategies.
  • Work with senior leadership to develop and execute an enterprise-wide managed care strategy.
  • Lead business development efforts to create favorable risk contract opportunities.
  • Major budgetary and financial responsibility for a group function. Amount of Budgetary Responsibility: \\$5mm +
  • Responsible for direct and indirect supervision of team members in one or more departments.

Education and Training Required

  • Bachelors Degree Pharmacy
