The Director of Medical Management works with leadership to drive the improvement of members’ health.  This role works closely with providers and teams to deliver value added services that improve access to care, ensure efficiency and affordability in the healthcare system and supports the provider - patient relationship. 
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Providing leadership to and being accountable for the performance and direction through multiple layers of management and professional staff in medical management
  • Innovating provider - organizational relationships to drive innovation and satisfaction for providers and patients
  • Work most often impacts a large business unit
  • Developing and executing strategies for medical management in UT to impact affordability, quality and accessibility
  • Directing others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functions or disciplines
  • Ensure compliance (Medicare) of medical and clinical operations programs and services
  • Leading and directing multiple medical management functions and employees, using influence to drive staff to achieve results and organizational collaboration 
  • Evaluate and analyze data to determine program needs to improve quality and affordability


Required Qualifications:
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensed in the State of UT or ability to obtain
  • Undergraduate degree
  • 5+ years leading teams
  • Business and Financial Acumen related to healthcare
  • Ability to convey complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with various levels of leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Community relationships with Utah providers
  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Related Field
