The Director of Patient Access is responsible for directing and managing all aspects Patient Access in the facility/acute environment. The patient access functions require successfully securing necessary and accurate data to facilitate timely and accurate scheduling, registration and financial clearance for all patient encounters and admissions thereby ensuring accurate and prompt payment of services by patients and third party payers. Must maintain a working knowledge of patient management and patient accounting functions and metrics, understand how they impact organizational performance, the revenue cycle, and a strong business understanding of the departments overall financial implications to the hospital. The Director of Patient Access will strive to improve overall satisfaction of patients, physicians and other providers, and payers.
4 year / Bachelor Degree in Business Management or a related field (Required)
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field (Preferred)
2 or more years of experience in professional/practice operations with accountability for results (Required)
2 or more years of experience working in facility/acute operations (Required)
5 to 7 years of experience managing a revenue integrity function (Preferred)
