The Director of Project and Portfolio Management provides leadership, organization, and coordination to support project governance and management for initiatives and projects owned by the Information Technology project management team. This leader ensures all projects adhere to the best practices and standard approaches for project management. This leader also manages change and ensures the continuous improvement of project and portfolio management methodology, while also ensuring morale, productive and overall health of the team continues to improve over time.

Essential Activities:

  • Overall responsibility for definition/refinement of project and portfolio management best practices, processes, and policy to ensure alignment with corporate, divisional, and departmental goals
  • Implements, measures and reports on the execution strategy defined for the team.
  • Builds a high-performing team. Mangaes career progression for team members to include hiring, performance reviews, salary decisions, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Oversight for the PM/Scrum Master aspects of the development life cycle such as schedule, budget, risk, issues, actions working in both waterfall and agile methodology approaches.
  • Oversight for the PM/Scrum Master aspects of the development life cycle such as schedule, budget, risk, issues, actions working in both waterfall and agile methodology approaches.
  • Overall responsibility for definition/refinement of project management best practices, processes, and policy to ensure alignment with corporate, divisional, and departmental goals.
  • Identify product/program dependencies, resource constraints, and any other risks to the portfolio.
  • Scouts for and evaluates new processes, methodologies and tools as opportunities for innovation and project execution excellence.
  • Effectively communicate and consult with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accountable for Agile project management processes including planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk assessment.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years project management is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required.
  • 5-7 years of people leadership experience is required.
  • Experience with CA PPM is required.
