The Director Operations for UMR – UHC Charleston, West Virginia. 
 
This role will provide leadership to the team that is responsible for providing administrative services to our customers
 
The  Director of Operations is responsible for managing business operations within the UMR call and claim service unit.  Key responsibilities will include recruiting staff as we expand our business in the Charleston, WV area.  Will manage call and claim managers and service account managers,  process improvement initiatives, and project work.
 
Primary Responsibilities:  
  • Lead cross functional teams, associate development and coaching strategies
  • Motivates team to exceed customer expectations, responsible for all facets of service to our customers
  • Responsible for hiring and selection process
  • Project leadership
  • Coordinate, supervise and be accountable for the daily/weekly/monthly activities of supervisor and team members
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion and performance goals are met, such as: production and quality metrics
  • Coordinate work activities with other leaders, managers and, departments, etc.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members, including formal corrective action
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for team members
  • Provide expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and/or providers
  • Serves as Site leader and host for UMR in this location- liaison to UHG for facility related matters
  • Budget review and adherence, including approval of expense reports, supply requests and compensation recommendations

 


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED or higher
  • 5+ years of experience leadership experience to include managing both direct and indirect reports within healthcare environment
  • 5+ years in a quality and production based environment with emphasis on process improvement
  • Prior project management experience such as identification of resources, development and communication of objectives, meeting leadership, project status reporting, review and follow-up project results
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word (ability to create and edit documents). Microsoft Excel (ability to create spreadsheets, pivot tables and perform data analysis) and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or higher
  • Able to travel as needed (less than 25%)
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills for resolving customer concerns, processing and workflow issues
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and meet deadlines while handling multiple work assignments
  • Demonstrated experience in leading team efficiently in a results-oriented environment with high standards and statistical monitoring of performance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced problem solving and decision making skills
  • Professional presentation skills for customer meetings and presentations
