The Director, Oversee The Opioid Task force and drive strategic thinking with Enterprise partners, Lead Opioid Risk Mitigation and Prevention program by strategizing and implementing meaningful initiatives to drive members at risk and high-risk with appropriate care and use to achieve member well-being and improve the quality of life. The Director, Opioid Strategy and Services discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements to existing products or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. The Director, Opioid Strategy and Services requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

Responsibilities

The Director, Opioid Strategy and Servicesleads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Develops design briefs for new product ideas, including specifications, sketches and/or models to present a clear, focused concept for strategic consideration. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy. Assimilate literature, competitive intelligence, program outcomes, and analysis to contribute to the design and testing of new strategies and clinical pilots to improve appropriate use. Implement effective initiatives and pilots to reduce inappropriate use and abuse. Establish meaningful metrics and goals to track towards progress. Timely complete request for proposals (RFPs) and request for information (RFI) from government affairs and organizations. Educate Humana associates and provide relevant collateral materials and comprehensive plans.  Serve as an Task force Leader with participation on Opioids Task Force Action Committee(s)) and represent Humana on external committees  Help position Humana Pharmacy Solution’s Opioid Risk Mitigation program as a best-in-class, member-centric guidance solution

               

Required Qualifications

Typically requires Master's Degree or equivalent, 8+ years of technical and 5+ years of management experience

Preferred Qualifications

Degree of Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy

Active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure

3 years of clinical experience in managed care or pharmacy related field

Ability to work in a dynamic and highly matrixed environment

Ability to work in a team and independently to strategize, prioritize, organize, and execute initiatives effectively to achieve goals

Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and initiative when working with others

Ability to learn quickly, work under pressure and timeline, work with ambiguity, and make complex decisions as necessary to meet business needs

Ability to manage multiple projects, requests and deadlines with attention to detail.

Ability to assimilate, analyze, draw conclusions, and make recommendations from complex data

Excellent oral presentation, verbal and written communication skills

Prior experience in leading and managing programs

Additional Information

Prior experience in leading and managing opioid programs and initiatives

Board Certified Pharmacist  (e.g., BCACP, BCGP, BCPS, BCOP, BCPP)

Pharmacy practice residency or similar pharmacy practice experience

MBA, MHA, and/or demonstrated business or finance background
