As the Product Manager, you are responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of development necessary to meet the business needs. is a mission critical application supporting our business and/or clinical community in the business segment(s). As the key liaison between the business and technical teams, your analysis, documentation and communication skills are critical to exceeding your customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As the Product Manager, acts as the domain specialist who owns and drives the vision for the product life cycle.

    • Supports end-to-end coordination for product-related activities.

    • Creates, documents and communicates the roadmap, creating buy-in among all stakeholders.

  • Serves as the primary liaison between business and technical team, responsible for gathering, documenting and prioritizing business requirements in support of critical business needs.

    • Manages all Product Owners and Business Analysts to support the product vision and deliver on the 3-year roadmap.

    • Partners with the Product Triumverate (Development lead, Product Architect) to validate product strategy and confirm roadmap plan.

    • Participates in estimation activities, identifying target release dates and scope for each.

    • Manages the product backlog to ensure adequate and timely feature prioritization and grooming.

  • Serves as a key SME for all release management activities with Business and IT partners.

    • Provides oversight of release activities for the Business, including, but not limited to communication, documentation, training and release notes.

    • Works with the Program/Project Manager and Operational Readiness leader to ensure all stakeholder needs are addressed in the deployment plan.

  • Serves as the SME for User Acceptance Testing activities, including providing support for hands-on testing and troubleshooting when necessary.

    • Mobilizes the business product team to provide the necessary documentation and support.

    • Drives findings through to satisfactory resolution.

  • Facilitates business rule configuration planning for the product (regulatory and operational).

    • Spearhead requirements gathering to maximize the potential for business configuration capabilities.

    • Ensures all system business rules and configurations meet regulatory, compliance and operational needs, and facilitates solutions between groups if discrepancies exist.

  • Facilitates ad hoc and operational report requirements in the roadmap considering both real time and near real time needs.

  • Consults with the larger team to prepare  users for migration to the product platform, participating in requirements gathering and review.

  • Provides oversight for product funding procurement and budget maintenance.

    • Working with VP Provider Operations, Finance and IT partners, manages the product capital, maintenance and infrastructure budgets, including any Keep-the-Lights-On (KTLO) pools.

    • Working with Business partners, coordinates the business case development and monitoring of projected savings post deployment.

  • Serves as the Agile champion for the product team, coaching and driving continuous improvement in the team’s agile performance on a day-to-day basis.

    • Supports use of all tools that allow monitoring and reporting of Agile activity across the team.

    • Promotes and monitors the professional development of staff members in their understanding and use of the Agile framework.

  • Works well in a matrix environment across cross-functional teams.

    • Promotes and encourages deep understanding of customer work environment and business practices, including, but not limited to, periodic individual and/or group interviews and virtual and/or onsite job shadowing as appropriate and supported by our Business partners.

  • Represents Our United Culture missions and values in all activities, demonstrating exemplary customer service with internal and external team members.
    Models collaborative leadership behavior with the team.


Required Qualifications:  

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Health Administration, related field or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading business/operational team activities related to application implementations

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare technology

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to all levels of project governance

  • Experience gathering requirements from the client/business, including documentation, review and facilitating the requirements through to acceptance and sign-off

  • Experience with Agile processes, including development of user stories, preferred

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating large groups and remote audiences preferred

  • Experience with process improvement, workflow modeling, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes required

  • Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data

  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in specific product content area strongly preferred

  • Certification in Product Management or Agile scrum
