Engagement Lead - Minnetonka, MN

A fast growing, very dynamic team within Optum Data Solutions seeking a highly motivated individual that is interested in taking the next step on their career path. We are looking for an individual to step into a critical business engagement role. This role requires excellent knowledge of the healthcare domain, including experience with healthcare data warehousing and analytics capabilities, and requires exceptional customer communication & presentation skills.  This role requires expert project management and business analysis skills. Candidates must enjoy working in an evolving, fast-paced and dynamic work environment.   Engagement Leads are Data solutions first line of contact with our UHC and Optum business partners.   Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborating with internal partners to usher a project through the engagement process including: 
    • Overview of business need & objectives
    • Identify agile capabilities and success criteria
    • Confirmation of solution design and feasibility
    • Coordination of project estimates across multiple delivery groups
    • Creation/documentation of Agile Teaming Agreement (ATA) and other key engagement artifacts
  • Meeting with partner customers to define, understand, and document project requirements/capabilities
  • Partner with architecture teams to ensure that the high level solution aligns with the business requirements
  • Identifying and documenting design considerations, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Gather estimates for delivery and operational costs
  • Identifying risks and working with delivery teams and business partners to mitigate those risks
  • Regular communication with business partners; the person in this role will act as a liaison between internal customers and technical teams during the engagement phase of a project
  • Coordinate tasks and tight timelines across multiple teams leading to timely engagement delivery
  • Multi-task and handle several engagement projects concurrently

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer, healthcare, or business, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of IT experience working in a large, complex, organization with healthcare data warehouses, cloud architecture, data analytics, reporting, and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including 7 or more years’ experience with customer communications, requirements gathering via formal sessions (e.g., JADs), presentation of RFPs or requirements documents, PowerPoint presentations, and extensive meeting facilitation
  • Excellent customer relationship skills and customer focus orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in or with Optum or UHC
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Exposure across multiple types of healthcare entities – e.g., payer, provider, population management, pharmacy
  • Experience working with Agile teams
  • Subject matter expertise in the Healthcare Industry and related data; well-versed and current on industry trends and priorities
