Facilities and Office Support Assistant

Accellion is a software company located on Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto, across from the Palo Alto Golf Course. We are on the CalTrain shuttle and very close to 101.

Accellion has an opening for a unique individual, who will play three very different roles:

-          You will stock and replenish our supplies, including snacks, drinks, and office supplies, and keep the kitchen and break room tidy

-          You will help prepare a simple lunch for our team

-          You will cover the front desk when our receptionist is on a break

In addition, you will help out with various Finance and HR activities, as needed.

To do this job well, you should be friendly, customer service oriented, well organized, and environmentally sensitive.

Your day will start at 7:30 AM, five days a week, and the work week will be about 30 hours. Anyone taking this job must pass a background check.


Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal- essential as you will be answering phones, greeting visitors, and sending written communications to employees. Requires a professional demeanor and appearance.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds when helping to stock supplies, such as moving a case of paper for a copier or a case of drinks. You will use a short step ladder to put some food items on shelves.

Basic knowledge of building maintenance - our landlord handles the heavy maintenance, but you will need to coordinate with them and make sure we schedule all routine maintenance, and you will respond personally to simple requests such as installing keyboard trays or hanging white boards.

Knowledgeable about or willing to research office ergonomics to keep our employees healthy.

Requires basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word and very basic Excel) for calendaring and email; good computer skills required for ordering, responding to facilities requests, researching needs, etc.
