Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

WFCRC is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to assist in the management of its Wholesale Sanctions Advisory Team. The position will report directly to the Wholesale Sanctions Manager and will partner with the Wholesale Banking lines of businesses, WFCRC and Enterprise Financial Crimes Risk and Compliance to develop, implement and enforce the Wholesale Sanctions program and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and applicable corporate policies.

  • Review and approve LOB procedures, processes and controls relating to Sanctions policies and standards to ensure applicable corporate policies and Wholesale standards are appropriately implemented and aligned.
  • Review and provide credible challenge on Sanctions-related risk assessment and new products and services across the Wholesale Banking business.
  • Assist Wholesale Banking lines of business in executing and tracking progress to Sanctions program enhancements.
  • Provide advice and subject matter expert guidance to Wholesale Banking lines of business on Sanctions-related issues and escalations.
  • Deliver targeted Sanctions-related training and assist in raising Sanctions awareness across Wholesale lines of business.
  • Oversee testing programs to reasonably ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate policies. Escalate any non-compliance to FCRM Governance.
  • Assist Wholesale Sanctions Manager with overall management of Wholesale Sanctions program.
  • Stay current on OFAC sanctions Executive orders, regulations and congressional sanctions legislation.
  • Work on special projects, other assignments as necessary.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: fraud, Bank Secrecy Act, anti money laundering, investigations of financial crimes transactions or policy violations, risk management, or compliance; or a BS/BA degree or higher in applied sciences, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or criminal justice, with 2+ years of experience in the foregoing

  • Experience using Wells Fargo Cornerstone system
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo s Shared Risk Platform (SHRP)
  • An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation
  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
  • Wholesale Customer Information System (WCIS) Experience
  • Project management experience
Other Desired Qualifications
  • Significant OFAC/Sanctions compliance experience either in government or private industry, or a combination of both.
  • Familiarity with the business operations of a large bank and/or broker dealer.
  • Product and services knowledge of a large bank and/or broker dealer.
  • JD preferred
  • Well organized and able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision; great attention to detail; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes.
  • Articulate, poised and comfortable in direct interaction with business clients and senior management within Legal & Compliance.
  • Sound analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
