Job Description Description

What does the Financial System Analyst do?

Help Accounting and Finance department become more efficient and effective by maximizing new, existing and underutilized systems/technology.   The Analyst will be the subject matter expert and work as a liaison between Finance, Accounting, HR and IT to facilitate in design, testing and implementation of various financial systems, including NetSuite, Mi9, Paylocity, Accruent, BNA, Reconnect and other applications.  This position will be responsible for the enhancement of existing business processes that specifically related to the utilization of the financial systems and support the accuracy and timeliness of financial information and other data used in financial reporting.


Job Duties:

  • System administration, configuration and design of the primary financial systems
  • Offer technical solutions to gain process efficiency and improve data integrity
  • Drive the design, development, testing and deployment of new integrations and maintain existing integrations
  • Monitor recurring (daily, weekly or monthly) interfaces/processes, internal and external, to ensure successful execution and troubleshoot any failed processes
  • Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data
  • Assist with the review, modification of existing reports and create new financial and informational reports
  • Creating business requirements when required and contributing to the design process, creating test plans, executing and managing the testing process, communicating changes to business and providing training
  • Collaborate with IT, Functional users, developers and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications
  • Fulfill the role of a subject matter expert on the financial systems, providing support to end-users, answering questions, resolving issues, and following through on any reported or unresolved issues
  • Investigate and resolve system-related issues and support the business with escalating issues to the appropriate vendor or internal system owner

Requirements
  • College Degree required, preferably in Information Systems, computer Science or Business discipline
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance, functional knowledge of financial systems and processes with experience re-engineering financial business processes
  • At least 3 to 5 years of Financial system administration
  • Experience in working within an ERP application and experience integrating systems
  • Retail IT experience is preferred
