Position Summary

Hardware Team Leaders are responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of the hardware department. They are responsible for maximizing sales and profitability, along with managing expenses while ensuring that the department is optimally stocked and merchandised and that all customers are provided with excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment to ensure health and OSHA requirements are met.
  • Oversee inventory control by maintaining appropriate stock levels to reduce shrink and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Manage and implement all product tags including weekly tags, new items, discontinued items, special promotions, etc.
  • Oversee and collaborate with ACE regarding pricing, pricing accuracy, new items and discontinued items.
  • Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations to increase profitability.
  • Hire, train and develop Hardware staff with the goals for growth and success in their positions.
  • Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create work schedules.
  • Delegate daily workload among associates to meet merchandising and visual presentation standards.

  • Work closely store leadership to develop Team Member and customer educational programs.
  • Develop merchandising programs and in-store promotional programs that maximize product awareness and sales.
  • Maintain accurate department records to ensure documentation of activities is available.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Perform duties of staff as required.
  • Supervision of team members within an area or section of a department.

Education and Training Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required

  • 3 to 5 years

Experience Desired

  • Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn

Age Requirement

  • At least 18 years of age
