As the Healthcare Economics Consultant you will design and develop reports and analyze data to measure clinical outcomes, network performance and methodology levers. You will investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care costs data. As the Consultant, you will interpret and analyze clinical data from various sources and recommend best approaches for its consolidation. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze claims, premium, capitation, membership and provider data in support of financial, clinical, medical, operational,  and utilization analyses

  • Collect, manipulate healthcare data; create Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting

  • Support projects to completion by contributing to database creation, statistical modeling and financial reports

  • Create and update automated processes within client databases

  • Analyze reporting tools utilized by the internal customer groups

  • Performs data analytics in support of trend identification, initiative, program development and validation

  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions

  • Communicate results to relevant audiences and incorporates results into medical forecast

  • Provides ongoing communications on project status, results, and conclusions from analyses


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of work experience in a corporate setting

  • 1+ years of health care experience working with claims data and medical codes

  • Proficiency in performing data analytics

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with SQL, SAS and / or other statistical program

  • Intermediate level of proficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, etc.

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Tableau 

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance or Health Administration or related field

  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

  • Microsoft Visual Studio
