Position Summary

Work in partnership with assigned business leaders to provide coaching, support, and influence that enable these areas to effectively deliver their people plans. Coordinate the day-to-day Human Resource functions for approximately 750 union and non-union Team Members in conjunction with the Company's business strategies to efficiently and accurately meet customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Promptly investigate, research, and document Team Member relations issues, and propose resolutions to management for grievances, arbitrations, etc. in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as Company policies. Ensure compliance with Human Resource related laws including ADA, FLSA, ADEA, FMLA, etc.
  • Develop relationships with union stewards, business agents, and committees of both locals 249 and 636 in order to build and maintain positive and productive union relationships. Interpret and provide guidance to management on the terms of the collective bargaining agreements and maintain fair employment practices.
  • Meet with business leaders on a regular basis to stay abreast of changing business needs and anticipate human resource issues and opportunities.
  • Provide interpretation of relevant policies and procedures; guide management on handling sensitive performance management and other Team Member relations matters
  • Act as a liaison between OK Grocery and Corporate Human Resources to ensure corporate policies, procedures, and initiatives are fully understood and implemented. Assist in communicating benefits and changes to all Team Members (401k, medical, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with DOT; maintain accurate DOT records with regards to drug and alcohol screening and DOT physicals. Monitor random DOT testing program to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Partner with Recruiting to ensure all staffing needs are met for all union and non-union positions in order to maintain an efficient and cost-effective operation. Evaluate all hiring processes, including orientation and onboarding and make recommendations for positive change to reduce turnover and improve morale.
  • Cross-train in all areas of RSC HR including payroll, time & attendance, worker's compensation, FMLA administration, performance management, policy and contract implementation and management, labor relations, investigations, grievance and arbitrations, HR-related training, DOT administration and compliance, etc.

  • Bachelors Degree HR or equivalent HR experience
