The Intake Technician receives, coordinates, and implements the initial Home Health, in-home Hospice and Hospice Home referrals. This position provides critical functions essential to ensuring courteous, efficient, and accurate handling of the referral process, which includes receiving the referral, receiving orders, verification of benefits, authorization to provide service, and certification and continued certification of services. The Intake Technician begins the identification process of services needed by the patient, and insures expeditious admission and start of care. The Intake Technician initiates and facilitates the Case Management activities from a managed care perspective under the direction of the Intake Coordinator. The Intake Technician serves as a contact person for insurance case managers. The Intake Technician performs a variety of duties as assigned to support and facilitate the maintenance of accurate and efficient intake of referrals for Home Health and Hospice. Provides direct customer service and/or clerical/administrative support for the department as assigned.

High School Graduate
Strong customer service skills, solid team work, relationship management skills, and flexible work style
Knowledge and experience with Government and Commercial Payers
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS
LPN or equivalent medical experience (minimum 2 years experience)
