As a member of the Medicare Supplement team, the Integrated Marketing Manager, Consumer Marketing position is responsible for managing the member communications strategy to attract and activate consumers in Optum programs in order to achieve program participation and value targets. This position will have direct involvement with defining member strategy for a variety of supporting programs and delivering on tactics in addition to leadership oversight.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Member Marketing Strategy:
    • Develop data driven marketing strategies and plan to create interest, relevance, and relationships with Medicare Supplement customers by producing, curating, and sharing content that activate and engage consumers in their health and wellness
    • Manage client relationships (both internal and external) to ensure open communications and that expectations are clearly defined and managed
    • Develop communications strategy and campaign plan, including test strategies to maximize response
    •  Define and manage standard member marketing materials and touch points for the assigned member population
    • Determine timing and frequency for engagement
    • Develop and pilot new consumer engagement approaches/programs
    • Maintain and report on success metrics as specified in the strategic plan
    • Lead and coordinate consumer research required to gain member insight
    • Develop campaign creative briefs, providing consumer positioning, as well as copy and design direction to creative staff
    • Develop and serve as ongoing owner of communication materials used to drive program enrollment and behavior change post enrollment
    • Work with cross-program peers to support the coordination of integrated marketing efforts and share best practices
  • Execution:
    • Lead efforts to set-up, audit and enhance member communication content and materials across modalities (print, email, web)
    • Manage all material reviews, requirements and approval processes across Optum, UHC, Clinical, SHIP, ASI and others (as appropriate); clearly articulating member and program requirements and the marketing approach, as well as working with partners to resolve conflicting feedback
    • Provide business requirements for campaign execution and analysis
    • Work with Project Manager and Fulfillment Services to ensure the Fulfillment Ordering System is updated and accurate
    • Work with Clinical Operations and Work Force management staff to coordinate marketing efforts with call center staffing capacities
    • Ensure process adherence for campaign planning and execution
    • Manage all channel-specific Data Release Governance (DRG) requirements in accordance to strict data compliance regulations
    • Develop budgets to support recommended engagement strategies; obtain budget approval, and manage spend relative to budget

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or Communications
  • 8+ years of Consumer Marketing experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading Marketing campaigns or projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry highly desired
  • Cross-functional project management experience
  • Medicare Marketing
