IT Ethical Hacking Operations Lead- Plymouth, MN

As part of the Attack Surface Management team, the Ethical Hacking Operations Lead will assist in development and implementation of information security policies, standards and procedures to secure and protect data residing on systems through management of EH team activities.  Team member will communicate application security requirements and technical security concepts to internal and external project groups, application development teams, architects, and managers.  Provide customer support and Ethical Hacking service delivery functions to the enterprise.  Work directly with application teams to implement procedures and systems for the protection, conservation and accountability of proprietary, personal or privileged electronic data.  

Major Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and manages the Ethical Hacking Operations capabilities for United Health Group, its affiliates, and customers which include the following:

  • Predicts emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them.

  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on ASM EH Operations

  • Participates in the development of ASM EH team strategy.

  • Develops and manages technical process plans to achieve objectives.

  • Coordinates testing resources and schedule to meet enterprise policy and audit compliance.

  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.

  • Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches within the ASM realm.

  • Provides end to end service delivery support for Ethical Hacking services


  • Candidates must be located near the Plymouth, MN office

  • Undergraduate Degree or High School Diploma with 5+ years of equivalent experience and an IT Security related certification.

  • 5 or more years of experience in the IT industry (system administration, software development, and/or IT Security)

  • An understanding of ethical hacking methodologies, application security testing, and  industry resources, e.g. OWASP, NIST publications, SANS/CWE.

  • Ability to initiate, design, execute, and complete projects independently with minimal direction.

  • Ability to build relationships and work well with different the organizations and diverse groups in a fast moving and dynamic virtual environment.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through oral or written communication with all levels in the organization

  • Proven ability to solve problems independently.


  • Desired Certification in Information Security – CISSP,CISM, CEH, GPEN, GWAPT
