Subject Matter Expert for F5 ASM, including overseeing the stability and maturation of F5 ASM.
 
Individuals in this position will function at a senior analyst level in a 24/7/365 operations environment, ensuring the security and protection of systems data and analyzing and implementing procedures to ensure the protection, conservation, and accountability of proprietary, personal, or privileged electronic data. The individuals will work directly with security and process teams, analyzing issues/incidents, establishing/working war rooms, diagnosing issue severity, computing problem resolution and recovery. These individuals will resolve or work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve issues. If unable to do so, they will, in collaboration with the SMEs, determine the escalation of issues.
 
This position requires the ability to work hours mirroring the hours of teammates, as directed, typically starting at 8:00 am CST. This position will also require availability to work on-call and non-standard hours when necessary.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for F5 ASM
  • Serve as a technical lead for F5 ASM deployments
  • Determine the severity and complexity of issues pertaining to the security and protection of systems data, (either alone or as part of a team) to ensure the protections, conservation and accountability of proprietary, personal, or privileged electronic data
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents.  Collaborate with Cyber Defense Security to ensure prompt and effective resolution
  • Apply the most up-to-date code versions for F5 ASM
  • Assist Cyber Defense Security in the determination and establishment of War Rooms, managing and monitoring War Room activities; assist with escalations to the Vendor
  • Collaborate with director, managers, project managers, architects, and other individuals to ensure continuity and communication across teams
  • Collaborate with director, managers, and other technical personnel to ensure mitigation of security risks related to the company
  • Promote continued integration of technological advances surrounding to further enhance security and reduce risks
  • Mentor and coach cyber security analysts, providing guidance and expertise in incident/issue response and resolution methodology
  • Support customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Analyze issues, identify areas of concern, and formulate action/recovery plans
  • Familiarity with Web Application Security concepts and OWASP Top 10


Required Qualifications:

  • Specific experience with F5 ASM or other web application firewalls
  • Prior experience with deployment, policy management, application integration, and/or policy tuning.
  • Prior experience to troubleshoot in highly complex, technical situations within a matrixed organization
  • Prior experience to identify and mitigate security issues/incidents
  • Ability to obtain and keep required (government and other) security clearances (US Citizen)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications pertinent to area of expertise (CISSP)
  • Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent
  • Strong scripting skills : F5 CLI, Java, Web Applications
