IT Systems Engineer - Avella Specialty Pharmacy - NW Phoenix

Position Summary:

 

The Systems Engineer will build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure.  You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Qualified Systems Engineers will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Independently research and fully understand existing systems

  • Create and maintain thorough system documentation

  • Participate in system architecture and design

  • Constantly analyze & make recommendations for high performance, scalability, availability and security

  • Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies

  • Tier 2/3 support for internal Help Desk

  • Troubleshoot systems performance and outage issues

  • Collaborate with teams, inside and out of organization, to solve problems

  • Drive system outage triage calls with teams inside and outside organization

  • Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to core network technologies and architecture to achieve reduced cost, increased availability, and better security


Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant work experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a datacenter environment, design and rollout

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the following

  • System engineering experience

  • Dell physical servers and storage

  • out of band management tools

  • Active Directory, DNS, IIS and Group Policy

  • OS patch management

     

Strong Knowledge of the following

  • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

  • Multiple versions of Linux and Windows OS

  • Citrix Netscalers, and Citrix Storefront/XenApp

  • Quest Rapid Recovery backup solution

  • Virtualization with VMWare

     

  • Maintain and configure Solarwinds Orion suite of monitoring tools

  • Familiarity with setting up resources in AWS and/or Azure

  • Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting

  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Cisco UCS and vSwitches

  • Familiar with SharePoint

     

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • On-Call for after hour issues and monitoring

  • Prolonged standing

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Minimum travel required for remote implementations
