Lead Systems Engineer for SailPoint IIQ

The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for design, analysis, configuration and maintenance of complex systems software solutions, based on a thorough knowledge of systems engineering and programming concepts and techniques. Systems software engineering/programming is a specialized area of software engineering/programming focused on software that operates/controls computer hardware and provides a platform for running end user applications. Includes operating systems, device drivers, utilities, and software; development tools (e.g., assemblers, compilers, etc.). The Lead Systems Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.


Job Description

The Lead System Engineer develops new solution for Role-Based Access, Certifications, and Provisioning and Humana rapidly matures it’s Identity and Access Management program.  Work will largely be done using the SailPoint IIQ solution, but other technologies may be employed as well. 


Some of the primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Design and oversee application integrations for Read/Write and Read-Only Connectors between IIQ and other applications for aggregations and provisioning
  • Ensure the infrastructure of the IIQ platform supports the current and growing demand for Connectors
  • Oversee development by other team members to align approach with best practice
  • Work with leadership, business partners, other technical teams, production support and development team on desired functionality
  • Ensure integrations support Humana’s strategy for Role Based Access Controls, certifications, and other Identity & Access Management initiatives



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or 8 years of technical experience
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work in multi-vendor environment
  • Coordinate with functional team for requirements and clarifications of data for data validation
  • Experience in deployment/implementation of IIQ SailPoint
  • Knowledge in Identity Management process analysis, solution analysis, design and deployment of various products
  • Analyze feasibility of requirements and document architecture decisions
  • Java/J2EE Coding and Design experience, Identity and Access Management, Domain knowledge on Identity and Access Management implementation
  • Development experience in customizing connectors, workflows, forms, rules, policies, report, etc. in IIQ
  • Implemented Provisioning/De-Provisioning, Certification and Remediation process for a large customer
  • Configuration of Roles, Policies and Certifications for governance compliance
  • Hands on design, scripting and integration with Sailpoint IIQ Connectors and controllers and Web GUI
  • Complete understanding of User Entitlement, Business Rules & User Types in relation to organizational security policies and guidelines
  • Experience with Directories (LDAP, AD) to configure Sailpoint
  • Integration experience of Web Servers / App Servers on Sailpoint tool in relation to MS Windows Server, .NET Framework & Apache Tomcat and JRE
  • Experience in On-Boarding Applications, configuring certifications, reports, Email notifications
  • Experience in rules creation on Sailpoint to configure connectors and controllers
  • Provide Solutions and develop Connectors to the endpoint applications and integrate with internal and external vendors
  • Configure SailPoint IIQ connectors for applications and setup connectors JDBC,AD, LDAP and flat files
  • Build and Configure SailPoint in-built tasks like aggregation, ID refresh, schedule tasks, correlation, and Configuration and development of SailPoint Life Cycle Events (LCM)
  • Experience on Java Script, jQuery, Maven, Subversion for automation
