Overview

Under direction of Rooms Manager and Housekeeping Manager this position is responsible for the efficient and quality cleaning of hotel carpets of assigned areas in guest rooms, common areas, hallways, dorms etc. This position may be assigned other duties to facilitate guest services and efficient management of the hotel staff.

Responsibilities
  • Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Greet all guests with an appropriate welcoming gesture, hold door and assist guest with any directions or questions as necessary.
  • Clean Carpets in the Hotel (Use list received from management of vacant rooms; remove furniture and place on beds, fill machine with clean water, clean carpet, place fans until carpet is dry, replace furniture and turn room over to Front Desk, returning assignment sheet to housekeeping management)
  • Assist with employee housing check-ins and checkouts, including check-out room inspections.
  • Perform full housekeeping duties on employee housing checkout rooms
  • Perform minor repairs on employee housing units, including painting, electrical, plumbing and other repairs identified.
  • Ensure that employee housing work orders are being completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Keep floor cleaning and other machinery clean and in good working order.
  • Responsible for cleaning carpets in offices, hallways, meeting rooms, lobby and restaurant. Along with chairs/furniture when needed.
  • Responsible for documenting and keeping accurate records and tracking of assigned carpet cleanings.
  • Responsible for cleaning all floor tile in lobby, restaurant and other areas as assigned according to the schedule
  • Adhere to all The Grand Hotel lost and found procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies management as necessary.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment as required while performing job.
  • Responsible for reporting any maintenance issues to the maintenance department.
  • Other duties assigned to facilitate the quality of service of hotel staff to support guest services with may require the transportation of luggage and pushing/pulling linen carts, etc. throughout the course of the shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be customer service oriented with the ability to communicate in a friendly manner to guests.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed directions to ensure safe and proper operations of machinery.
  • Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job, pulling/pushing, bending, twisting, frequently lifting and moving furniture.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks without close supervision.
  • Willingness to help out in all areas of the housekeeping department to facilitate services to guests and efficient management of the hotel.
  • Possess valid/clear Arizona Driver License
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry as it relates to Engineering functions
  • Familiar with current National Uniform Building Codes 
  • Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout at The Grand Hotel.
  • General knowledge of The Grand Hotel guest services with the ability to convey information to the guests.                                                                                                                                                                   #CB
